I am a queer, nonbinary, Mexican American Licensed Professional Counselor who is committed to improving access to mental health services for everyone. I am passionate about working with individuals and groups who experience marginalization and oppression for who they are. I am originally from West Texas and have lived in ºÚÁÏÉçÇø for most of my life. In my spare time, I enjoy reading, spending quality time with loved ones, trying new foods, listening to music, and cooking.Ìý

I earned myÌýBachelor’s degree in PsychologyÌýandÌýMaster’s degree in ClinicalÌýMental Health Counseling from the University of Northern ºÚÁÏÉçÇø. My clinical training includes working in crisis stabilization and detox/withdrawal management, providing diagnostic assessments, individual, and group therapy in community behavioral health settings and group private practice, as well as providing Intensive Outpatient group services for Mental Health and Substance Use Disorders. I also have experience serving underrepresented populations including queer, transgender, gender-expansive individuals, American Indian/Alaska Native college students and college students of color.Ìý

Current Roles ÌýÌý

ÌýI provide individual and group counseling services. consultation, and crisis management services. I also co-lead an Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) for Trauma group. As the Counseling Liaison for the GSRC, my aim is to reduce mental health disparities and increase access to counseling and wellness services for the LGBTQIA+ community on campus.

ÌýI strive to build growth-fostering relationships with people that are both collaborative and supportive, from a multicultural and social justice lens. I hope to provide care that is culturally responsive, holistic, and affirming.ÌýWith empowerment, authenticity, and supportive challenge centered in my work, I seek to guide clients to engage in therapy in the ways that they need.Ìý
