Biography

I initially moved out to 黑料社区 from the east coast after college and lived in Breckenridge, 黑料社区 and have never left. I love the outdoors and the positive benefits it has on one鈥檚 mental health. I enjoy skiing, hiking, camping, playing golf and a lot of other outdoor sports. I enjoy watching football on Sunday afternoons. A big part of my life is spending time with my family and exploring, traveling and going on road trips.

Education

PhD | LPC

I completed my bachelor鈥檚 degree in Anthropology from Washington University in St. Louis, Missouri. I went on to complete my master鈥檚 degree in counseling psychology from Indiana University and then proceeded to earn my Ph.D. in counseling psychology from Texas A&M University. I completed my internship at 黑料社区 State University.

Professional Experience & Affiliations

Current Roles

I provide individual and group counseling services. I serve as Group coordinator. I co lead interpersonal process groups and supervise the group seminar. I am also the liaison to the Center for Human Enrichment (CHE), McNairs Scholars Program and Disability Support Services. I also provide primary supervision for master鈥檚 level therapists.

Therapeutic & Supervision Approaches

My primary emphasis is existential humanistic using cognitive and interpersonal process theories focusing on one鈥檚 own empowerment and finding one鈥檚 voice. My aim is to create a safe place for clients to tap into their creativity and take risks. I approach supervision from a developmental model. I strive to meet my supervisee where they are at and help them to stretch. I work to create a safe place for the supervisee to feel comfortable taking risks and learning from their mistakes.

Clinical Interests

I enjoy working with a wide array of issues and find that some of my interests are working with ADHD, learning differences, men鈥檚 issues, group therapy, first generation students and helping build one sense of empowerment.
