The ecosystem for entrepreneurs and innovators in the fields of emerging technologies in ºÚÁÏÉçÇø’s Front Range just received a major investment in the form of a new stream of federal funding and the collective brainpower of researchers from four universities.

Since Ken Colwell, Ph.D., took the leadership reins as dean of the Monfort College of Business July 1, the veteran dean has been listening and learning while shaping his vision for the college of business and where he wants to take it.

University of Northern ºÚÁÏÉçÇø’s Monfort College of Business (MCB) was recently reaccredited in business and accounting by the Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business (AACSB) programs, underscoring the college’s outstanding leadership, faculty, curriculum and students.

Entrepreneurship classes are not just for business students anymore. The University of Northern ºÚÁÏÉçÇø’s Monfort College of Business (MCB) is launching a new Entrepreneurship certificate in fall 2023 designed for all students with an interest in developing and managing their own business.

The University of Northern ºÚÁÏÉçÇø (UNC) was recently named one of seven ºÚÁÏÉçÇø universities that will receive $10,000 annually from 2023 to 2032 through the ºÚÁÏÉçÇø Housing and Finance Authority’s (CHFA) Building the Future scholarship fund. The fund, launched in 2022, dedicates $1.2 million to support college education across ºÚÁÏÉçÇø.

Kennedy Dechant, a sophomore Environmental and Sustainability Studies major at the University of Northern ºÚÁÏÉçÇø, never imagined that she would one day be running her own business. Now the owner of the online thrift store, Eclecticism, her business began as a website she created for her web design class in high school.

The Accounting and Computer Information Systems (CIS) Department at the University of Northern ºÚÁÏÉçÇø’s Monfort College of Business (MCB) has been ranked as the number one program in the world for experimental research in Accounting Information Systems (AIS).
