Student Research Takes the Stage at Annual Symposium and Competition
Graduate students are putting their scholarly skills on display during the fall 2023 Graduate Research Symposium on Tuesday, Dec. 5. This event also showcases the annual Northern ºÚÁÏÉçÇø Three-Minute Thesis competition, where students have three minutes and one slide to explain their thesis or dissertation projects in plain language.

Strategic Progress, Balanced Budget and Increase in New Students Top Board’s End-of-Year Agenda
The University of Northern ºÚÁÏÉçÇøâ€™s Board of Trustees held its final meeting of fiscal year (FY) 2023 on Friday, June 9. Among several items on a lengthy agenda, the board received an update on phase II of the university’s strategic plan Rowing, Not Drifting 2030, heard a summary report from the Presidential Evaluation Committee regarding a comprehensive review of UNC President Andy Feinstein and approved the university’s FY24 budget.

Grant Funds Tree Planting on Campus in Honor of Felled Silver Maple
The grounds of the University of Northern ºÚÁÏÉçÇø received a welcome living, breathing facelift last week. As part of Arbor Day and Earth Day celebrations this year, students, faculty and staff picked up shovels and got their hands dirty planting 122 new trees across the university’s 250-acre campus.

Spring 2023 Commencement Showcases Increasing Diversity Among UNC Graduates
The University of Northern ºÚÁÏÉçÇø is hosting its spring commencement ceremonies May 5-6, inside the Bank of ºÚÁÏÉçÇø Arena. This year’s spring class includes approximately 1,272 undergraduate and graduate students. An additional 342 students are expected to complete their degree requirements this summer and can participate in the spring ceremonies.
