We are writing to share an update on the presidential search, including the engagement of an executive search firm, the formation of the Presidential Search Advisory Committee, and the anticipated process and timeline moving forward.

On behalf of the University of Northern ºÚÁÏÉçÇø Board of Trustees, I am pleased to announce the appointment of Kamel Haddad, Ph.D. as interim president of UNC, effective Aug. 2. This decision follows a collaborative evaluation process conducted by the board over the past several weeks.

As we continue moving forward following President Feinstein’s announcement that he will step down on August 1, 2026, we want to share an update on the presidential search process.

Earlier today, President Feinstein shared with the campus community his decision to step down from his role effective Aug. 1, 2026.
