What is Financial Wellness?

Simply put, financial wellness is the ability to understand and take control of your money. This includes budgeting, understanding credit, smart borrowing, managing debt, and planning for the future. 

At UNC, we believe financial wellness is a key part of student success. Whether you’re managing a part-time job, navigating financial aid, or planning for life after graduation, we’re here to help you build the confidence and skills to make informed financial decisions. 

UNC students have free access to , a financial wellness platform with hundreds of articles, videos, courses, and tools. After completing a quick Financial Wellness Check-up, iGrad provides personalized recommendations based on your goals and financial situation. 

Paying for School 

Dealing with the FAFSA, financial aid awards, student loans, and work study can be overwhelming. UNC has staff dedicated to guiding students through these processes in the Office of Financial Aid. Scholarships are a great way to cover costs without taking out loans. UNC has one application to be considered for all UNC Foundation Scholarships you qualify for. The deadline each year is February 1st
