The Basin Neighborhood is located the closest to athletic games, the Gear Shop and Outdoor Pursuits, the Campus Recreation Center and Michener Library on West Campus.

Ridge Neighborhood
Located on West Campus and known for the cozy brick architecture that overlooks all of 11th Avenue and West Campus, the Ridge Neighborhood features the tallest residence hall.

Historic Style Meets Modern Comfort
Luj谩n Hall combines classic English-Tudor architecture with updated suites and modern amenities. Each of the three floors has its own unique layout, adding to the hall鈥檚 cozy and distinctive feel.
It鈥檚 also part of the UNC Central Campus Residential District, a registered state historic district known for its charm and sense of tradition.
Luj谩n Hall is recommended for returning and transfer students.

Each room comes with:
- A twin (regular) size adjustable-height bed
- A dual-firmness mattress鈥攃hoose between firm or extra firm by flipping it over
- Bed dimensions: approx. 80.5″ long x 41″ wide x 37″ high
- Low (or bunked) 8 inches
- Middle (default) 21 inches
- High 31 inches
Some rooms may have bunked beds when you move in to help maximize floor space. If you’d prefer a different setup, you鈥檙e welcome to bunk or un-bunk your bed after move-in.
You鈥檒l have your own space to study, create, and focus.
Every resident gets a desk and a two-position chair. The desks are approximately 42″ wide by 24″ deep and 30″ high.
Plenty of room for your laptop, books, and a few personal touches.

Rooms in Luján Hall do not come with a refrigerator or microwave, so you’ll need to plan ahead.

Private Bathroom Area
Each Luj谩n Hall suite includes a full bathroom鈥攏o need to leave your room to brush your teeth, wash up, or get ready for the day.
Storage
Plenty of space to keep your wardrobe organized and easy to access.
Wall-Mounted Wardrobe
Each resident has their own wardrobe attached to the wall.
Approx. size: 42鈥� wide x 24鈥� deep x 84鈥� high
Great for hanging clothes, storing shoes, and keeping your go-to items handy.
The wardrobes have four large drawers on the lower section, two divided areas to hang clothes in the middle section with the two smaller drawers, and two open storage areas in the upper section.
Some rooms may also have a shared dresser.

The closets/wardrobes in each room should allow for storage of clothing as well as other items such as boxes, books, athletic gear, etc. Some suites have shared closets and other storage spaces. Some suites in Luj谩n Hall have a full living room shared between residents of the suite.

Most Luj谩n Hall rooms have either double-hung windows or casement windows that can be opened by the residents who want to enjoy a breeze from time to time.
Window Coverings
Most windows come with fire-retardant drapes to help block out sunlight when you鈥檙e resting, studying, or just want a little privacy.
The Mesa Neighborhood
Named for being located on the epic hill of Central Campus, the Mesa Neighborhood is an active and vibrant part of campus. Located on Central Campus, the Mesa Neighborhood is within walking distance of Tobey-Kendel Dining Hall, the University Health Center and Counseling Center, Gunter Green and the University Center. The Mesa Neighborhood showcases beautiful buildings and some of the campus鈥檚 historic buildings that surround campus community areas where students can study, play music or perform at Garden Theatre, eat with friends, socialize and relax on the Gunter Green.
