Before You Start Your Housing Contract

A little prep now will make completing your housing contract quick and easy. Here’s what to do first:

• – You’ll need it to access the housing contract.
• Review UNC’s housing and dining requirements – Make sure you understand what’s needed for your first year and beyond.
• Explore your options – Research different residence halls and find what fits your style and college budget.
  • First-Year Students can choose from spaces in Hansen-Willis Hall, Harrison Hall, North Hall, South Hall, and Wiebking Hall
• Check out Residential Learning Communities and Specialized Housing – Discover themed communities where you can live with students who share your interests.

Once you’ve done these steps, you’ll be ready to dive into your contract and secure your spot on campus.

Completing Your Housing Contract

Ready to lock in your spot on campus? Here鈥檚 how to complete your housing contract step鈥慴y鈥憇tep:

• Log into the UNC Housing Portal using your MyUNC login.
• On the Home page, find 鈥�Your Housing Applications鈥� and click 鈥�View Applications.鈥� You鈥檒l see all contracts available to you.
• Click 鈥�Apply Now鈥� next to the contract you want to submit.
• Answer all required questions鈥攔ead carefully to make sure everything is correct.
• Click 鈥�Save and Continue.鈥�
• Review the Terms and Conditions and confirm your contract.
• Click 鈥�Pay deposit with TouchNet鈥� to go to the payment page.
• Once your deposit is paid, you鈥檒l see a confirmation screen with next steps and get a confirmation email sent to your UNC BearMail.
• You鈥檙e all set鈥攃ontract complete, and your campus home is officially on the way!

• Monday, December 1: 2026-27听Academic Year听contract鈥� available听

• Wednesday,听December 31: Students completing the contract on or听before听this date will be in Priority Group听A听

• Thursday, January 1st 鈥� Saturday, January 31st: Students applying between these dates are in Priority Group B听

• Sunday, February 1st听鈥� Saturday, February 28th: Students applying between these dates are in Priority Group C听

• Sunday, March 1st: Students applying on or after this date are in Priority Group D听

• Monday, March 16th: New Student Priority Group A Room Self-听Selection听Opens听

• Wednesday, March 18th: New Student Priority Group B Room Self-听Selection听Opens听听

• Friday, March 20th: New Student Priority Group C Room Self-听Selection听Opens听听

• Monday, March 23rd: New Student Priority Group D Room Self-听Selection听Opens听听

• Wednesday, July 15th: HRE Begins Assigning Students without an assignment听听

• On the Home page, go to 鈥淵our Housing Applications鈥� and click 鈥淰iew Applications.鈥� You鈥檒l see all contracts available to you.
• Click 鈥淎pply Now鈥� next to the contract you want to submit.

• Monday,听November 24:听Contract opens听for Renewal students and new to Arlington Park Students听

• Monday, January 14th: Last day to renew into the same apartment听听

• Monday,听January 26:听Browse and favorite rooms to select at the lottery听听

• Monday, February 2:听Apartment lottery听selection听open to all students听听

Before You Start your Early Arrival Request

• Apply for housing and have selected a space
• Know the date you need to arrive
• Know the reason/group you are arriving if you are arriving with a group

Completing the Contract

• Log into the UNC Housing Portal using your MyUNC login.
• On the Home page, on the left side of the page, look for 鈥淓arly Arrival Request鈥� under 鈥淔orms鈥�
• Click on 鈥淓arly Arrival Request鈥�
• Enter the date the form is being submitted at the top of the page
• Enter the date you will be arriving
• Select from the options provided the reason you are arriving early
• Carefully review the 鈥淭erms and Conditions鈥�
• Select 鈥淚 Agree鈥� to submit
• Once you have selected I Agree you can view your completed form under 鈥淢y Forms鈥� on the UNC Housing Portal

• Monday, June 23, 12:00 PM (Noon): Fall Early Move In Request available
• Friday, August 15: Fall Early Move In begins
• Tuesday, August 19: Fall Early Move In Concludes
• Monday, December 8, 2025, 12:00 PM (Noon): Spring Early Move In Request available
• Monday, January 5, 2026: Spring Early Arrival begins
• Thursday, January 8, 2026: Spring Early Move In Concludes
