Get Ready to Meet Your Advisor

Before your first advising appointment, make sure you’ve completed a few important steps. This helps your advisor give you the best support possible!

For advising information on minors and certificate programs, email nhsadvising@unco.edu

To-do before your meeting:

  • Submit your official high school and/or college transcripts
  • Send your AP or IB test scores (if you have them)
  • Complete any placement exams
  • Upload your immunization records in the UNC Admissions Portal
  • Are you currently taking classes? Email your advisor a list of those courses

Advising for Pre-health / Health Professions

UNC doesn’t offer Pre-Health as a major, but students planning healthcare careers are supported by a Health Professions Advisor. You can major in any field, though many students choose science majors to meet common professional school prerequisites.
