Scholarship Opportunities

Dean’s Award

TheÌýDean’s AwardÌýis aÌýmerit-based recruitment scholarshipÌýgranted at the time of admission to up toÌý30 incoming studentsÌýwhoÌýdemonstrateÌýthe highest academic achievement.ÌýSelectionÌýis based on aÌýcomposite evaluationÌýof MCAT score, overall and science GPAs (including graduate science GPA), and GPA trajectory. Each award totalsÌý$40,000, distributed asÌý$10,000 per yearÌýfor up to four years of study. Recipients are notified of theirÌýselectionÌýat the time of admission.Ìý

Phelps Family Scholarship

TheÌýPhelps Family ScholarshipÌýhonors UNC COM’s inaugural class by supporting two outstandingÌýUNC alumÌýwhoÌýdemonstrateÌýexcellence and commitment to community service.

Each scholarship providesÌý$30,000 toward first-year tuitionÌýand may be renewed for up to threeÌýadditionalÌýyears, for a maximum ofÌý$120,000 per student. Renewal decisions areÌýmade by the UNC COM Scholarship Committee based on the studentsÌýremainingÌýin good academic and professional standards.ÌýThe Phelps Scholarship application isÌýembeddedÌýin the UNC COM supplemental application, whichÌýis sentÌýtoÌýqualifiedÌýstudents via anÌýinvitation.Ìý

UNC COM students may also apply forÌýinstitutional and donor-funded scholarshipsÌýmade possible through theÌýUNC FoundationÌýand generous alumni contributions.Ìý

Incoming students are automaticallyÌýconsidered forÌýadmission-based scholarships at the time of acceptance. Continuing students may apply annually for donor-supported awards through the UNC Scholarship Application—accessible in your MyUNC account under the Financial Aid tab (a valid Bear number is required).
